
Nihat Kırmızı was born in 1978 in Şanlıurfa and he majored in Communications and Finance. He has his master’s degree from Accountancy and Finance departments in Marmara University. Nihat Kırmızı is also the founder of the first participation insurance company established as Cooperative in Turkey and he is doing research on finance and islamic finance. He is the senior manager of the group of companies which incorporates numerous companies active in finance, education, health and industry. Nihat Kırmızı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Doğa Sigorta and Chief Executive Officer, continues to work for the purpose of prevalence use of Islamic insurance in the field of insurance and to bring in qualified personnel to the Islamic finance sector.
In terms of background, Mr. Kırmızı is an extremely qualified risk, insurance and all-round business professional. Graduating from Selçuk University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism in 2003, Mr. Kırmızı continued with his academic journey to graduate from Marmara University with a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance in 2007. Mr Kırmızı worked in the insurance sector, between 2003 and 2007 Mr. Kırmızı worked as a representative of the German construction company, Alberts Collection GMBH, then at Doğa Telecommunication in the capacity of CEO. Here, Mr. Kırmızı initiated and developed numerous innovative projects in the online education and e-commerce spaces. In 2012, Mr. Kırmızı joined the board of directors at Doğa Hospital and in 2013, founded Mesleğim Education Institutions. Mesleğim Education Institutions started as a small investment but soon grew, today employing 100 staff and operating three schools which house up to 800 students at any one time. In 2014, Mr. Kırmızı joined Doğa Insurance, a nationwide insurance company, as both CEO and chairman. Under Mr. Kırmızı’s management, the company grew into one of the largest insurance companies in Turkey, ranking 9th out of 62 companies according to 2017 results and reaching US$400 million dollars in sales with a reasonable rate of profit. Its insurance services reach approximately 3 million customers per year, employing 250 staff across 1800 agencies in eight regions of Turkey. Mr. Kırmızı believes his experience leading one of Turkey’s largest insurance companies positions him well to navigate the complex terrain of UK insurance and compliance.
